Our Review of the First Week

Our Review of the First Week
Escalator to the top of the Umeda Sky Building

Hard to believe that the first week is already over! There are so many impressions and things that we saw and learned about a wholesome culture. Some things we had to learn, such as

  • ordering food in restaurants at vending machines and not at the waiter
  • vending machines for affordable food and snacks everywhere in every city
  • pedestrain crossings sounding cuckoo-like sounds when it's time to pass
  • heated toilet seats
  • cities that are incredibly clean and that don't have any graffiti at all - really nowhere!
  • cities without any wastebins! They just carry their garbage home and dispose of it there
  • delicious Japanese breakfast
  • delicious food in general (not surprised at all)
  • everything here works somehow smoothly and kind of automatically, there's not much ado - but it works perfectly!

Sounds like a declaration of love? Yes, it is! 🥰🥰

And a somehow irritating thing we noticed: Gacha/Pachinko (gambling) parlors full of kids and grown-ups. You don't have to understand everything of a different culture...

A rare real arcade machine!
